FRIESLAND
The 17th century
The FRIESLAND was a second rank vessel with 80 guns built around 1663, part of the great fleet of the United Provinces of Holland, consisting of 1700 units. She was considered to be one of the safest vessels afloat at the time of her launching.
In 1672, sided by 77 vessels under De Ruyter’s command, on board of the admiral-ship De Zeven Provincien, she took part in the battle of Solebay with the allied Anglo-French forces.
She was decommissioned in 1913
